PowerPanel comes with a free domain / web forwarding service. With this service you can add a domain name that forwards to another domain.
Note: The admin can have disable this plugin for his resellers. So if the plugin is not available if you have Reseller permissions, please contact you admin / vendor for support.
1. Login to PowerPanel
First you need to login to PowerPanel. If you don't have an account you can create an account (use the menu in the header and choose register). If you need help to login to PowerPanel, please read here how to logon.
2. Go to Plugin marketplace
To set this service up you will have to enable the plugin first, go to the marketplace and look for the plugin ‘PowerPanel forward service’. Install the plugin and enable it.
3. Check your License page for Hosting module
Because you can switch off the Hosting module (Forwarding is part of the Hosting module) you have to check if this Module has enabled in your current license plan.
Here you can read how to access your license options.
4. Create a forward plan
After you have done this you will have to create a hosting package for the forward service so that your customers can order a forwarder.
To do this create a new hosting package at Sale -> Plans & Pricing -> Hosting Plan and choose the option ‘Forwarder’
If you have created the new hosting package you can manage all the settings for it just as a regular hosting package, so you can set the color, the text, the price etc. When you enable this in the webshop your customers can order a hosting package with a forwarder. Managing the forwarders can be done at Hosting -> My forwarder.
IP Addresses
The IP address from our web forward server: 52.209.188.36
We advise you to create two records to your master DNS template.
Choose Hosting plan forwarder and use the details below:
- <domain> A 52.209.188.36
- www.<domain> CNAME <domain>
FAQ 1: Why is the forwarder not support frame forwarding (cloaked)
There are two big problems using Frames now this days:
- 99% of the websites are running secure (https://), so if you are loading a secure page from a insecure frame, it will not working!
- Frames have been removed from HTML5. Yes, browsers could still have support for frames, but it will a matter of time browsers will remove the frame support also.
Not a good idea to have a frame handle your forwarder.
